As President and Chief Executive Officer of MarketPointe Realty
Advisors, Mr. Valone has been an expert in economic real estate
market analysis for the Southern California housing market for more
than three decades. Through years of experience, Mr. Valone has
earned an outstanding reputation as a market research analyst expert
and real estate consultant, as well as being a leading authority
on the Southern California housing market. He is a consistent contributor
to the real estate sections of the San Diego Union Tribune, the
Los Angeles Times, the San Diego Daily Transcript, San Diego’s
BIA Builder Magazine, Southern California Builder, Builder and Developer,
the Wall Street Journal, the Orange County Register, and the Press
Enterprise. Mr. Valone is also a frequent guest on area radio talk
shows discussing real estate trends and a featured presenter at
the Southern California Building Industry Show (BIS), HOMEX as well
as numerous BIA meetings and real estate panels discussing real
estate market trends.
In addition to his duties as President and CEO of MarketPointe,
Mr. Valone is a principal real estate consultant specializing in
residential projects ranging from infill high-density residential
projects to standard subdivisions to large scale master planned
communities. Mr. Valone attributes his keen understanding of the
real estate market to hands-on, in-field inspections of competitive
projects and a his unique awareness of consumer needs. Through consumer
interviews and analyzing consumer research, Mr. Valone has systematically
intertwined qualitative characteristics of the marketplace with
his personally-developed sophisticated computer database and analytical
models to ensure that the formulation of conclusions and recommendations
are both buyer-sensitive and market-valid.
In recent years, as the redevelopment activity has exploded in
the San Diego downtown marketplace, Mr. Valone has become a specialist
in the low-to-high-rise infill condominium and rental developments
working on numerous high-density projects in San Diego, Los Angeles,
Long Beach and Orange County. As a member of the San Diego Downtown
Residential Market Association (founded by Centre City Development
Corporation and the downtown developers) and through his position
as official market analyst for DRMA, Mr. Valone has developed insights
into urban development shared by few.
Mr. Valone has dedicated much of his time to serving the Building
Industry. He has served numerous years as a member of the Board
of Directors for the San Diego County Building Industry Association
(BIA), and has chaired the BIA’s Communication Committee and
Employee Outreach Committee as well as serving on the Housing Affordability
Taskforce and the Strategic Planning Group. His dedication to the
industry goes beyond the boundaries of San Diego through his work
at CBIA (the California Building Industry Association) where he
has served years as the Vice Chairman of the Public Affairs Committee.
He has been actively involved in developing real estate oriented,
consumer market research projects with San Diego State University's
market research department and its Real Estate Land Use Institute
and is a founding partner in the Southern California New Attitude
Study, a seven-year old analysis of Southern California consumer
likes, dislikes and trends.
